Lamper Head is simply just a fabulous place –
a mixture of oak frame and minimalism designed for tranquillity and calm with the
most amazing views. The interior is designed with fresh fabrics and Italian sofas
to compliment the owners collection of contemporary art.
We can sleep eleven (maximum eight adults) with accommodation arranged over two
floors.
the zen suite takes up most of the ground floor and comprises a large master bedroom
with en suite and sitting areas, a second double room, a twin bedroom, shower room,
bathroom and spa treatment room.
the aqua suite has a large master bedroom with direct access to the swimming pool
and a second floor en suite bathroom and dressing area. The rest of the suite comprises
a children’s twin bunk room with access to the “secret” attic
playroom, a cabin single and a shower room.
the house was first designed and constructed in 1991 by Architect Roderick James
and Carpenter Oak Buildings – both of Grand Designs fame.
it has subsequently been extended in the same style by the current designer/owner
to include additional accommodation and indoor swimming pool and to create a “barn
house minimalism” feel to the whole property.
the emphasis is to create a calm and tranquil space in which to relax and enjoy
the spectacular views.
built from stone, oak, fir and lots of glass the house sits well in its natural
surroundings
it is decorated throughout with elegant simplicity using local and Italian furniture
and it houses the owner’s collection of contemporary art.
